Julio Pro (1929–2013) was a California-based painter known for romanticized, detailed oil paintings of wildlife, Native American subjects, and American cowboy scenes. A former anesthesiologist who started painting in 1980, his work gained recognition, including inclusion in the 2002 Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s “Birds in Art” show.
